MEKH tariff table · 2025–2026

System usage charges

The system usage charge (RHD) is the regulated layer of the electricity price: it is set by MEKH and paid for the use of the grid — on top of the commercial energy fee. There are two types: consumption-based volumetric charges (HUF/kWh) and fixed, capacity-based charges (base charge, contracted capacity charge).

The tables below contain the official values of MEKH decisions H 4437/2024 (2025) and H 2995/2025 (2026). All values are net, excluding 27% VAT.

Total volumetric charge — 2025 vs 2026

By voltage level, HUF/kWh.

For time-series tariffs the decrease comes from the lower transmission volumetric charge: 4.84 → 3.39 HUF/kWh (−30%).

Time-series settlement — 2026

Profile-based settlement

For smaller consumers (≤55.2 kW), with standard load profiles and no capacity charge. If a profile-based customer provides 15-minute data (from a sub-meter), the simulation runs on actual data, but the tariff rates remain profile-based.

Smart-meter time-of-use settlement (KIF IV.)

A category introduced in 2025. The day/peak/off-peak zone rates are currently identical (20.01 HUF/kWh, 2026) — there is no real time-band differentiation yet. Total volumetric charge: 23.40 HUF/kWh (unchanged from 2025).

What does this mean for solar PV and energy storage?

Solar PV → volumetric charge savings

Every solar kWh used for self-consumption saves the full volumetric charge. For a medium-voltage (KÖF) connection this is 11.78 HUF/kWh in 2026 — in the system usage layer alone, on top of the energy fee.

Energy storage → lower capacity charge

With peak shaving, a BESS can reduce the contracted capacity. At medium voltage (KÖF) the capacity charge is 15,924 HUF/kW/year — a 100 kW reduction ≈ HUF 1.6 million/year in savings.
