What is the difference between EPC and the Energy Infrastructure as a Service model?

Both deliver the same system, but ownership and risk sit in different places. With EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction), you finance the investment, the system becomes your property and goes on your balance sheet, and the full savings are yours from day one — as are the technical risk beyond the scope of the warranties and the responsibility for operation. This is the right choice if the investment budget is available and the company wants to keep the asset under its own control. With Energy Infrastructure as a Service, ICP designs, builds, finances and operates the system, and you pay a service fee for the available infrastructure. No investment of your own is required, and availability and technical performance are contractual obligations on the service provider’s side. At the end of the contract period, the system can be purchased. Which of the two routes delivers the better result depends on the site’s consumption profile, the tax position and the investment policy — this is best compared with concrete numbers after a site survey.
