HMKE

Household-scale small power plant — the connection category below 50 kVA, with a simplified notification to the distribution system operator.

HMKE (household-scale small power plant) is the category for solar connections below 50 kVA. It can be installed with a simplified, fast notification to the distribution system operator; no MEKH license is required.

Although its name says “household”, the category denotes a size limit, not a type of use — smaller industrial/commercial sites can also fall into it. Systems above 50 kVA are already subject to SCTE or a small power plant operating license, and the aFRR obligation also applies to them.

Details of the permitting categories are in the knowledge base.
