DAM (Day-Ahead Market)
The HUPX day-ahead market, where hourly/15-minute prices for the next day are set; the settlement basis for spot contracts.
The DAM (day-ahead market) is the HUPX (Hungarian Power Exchange) segment where the electricity price is set for every hour/15-minute period of the following day, typically at noon, by auction. It provides the settlement basis for spot (market-indexed) industrial contracts.
Since October 2025, the Hungarian DAM has operated in true 15-minute resolution, which results in deeper midday price troughs and sharper peaks as solar generation grows.
The intraday pattern of the DAM (cheap midday, expensive evening) is the source of battery storage arbitrage — interactive data: HUPX prices.
