On-site energy assessment for solar PV system design

Process · Phase 1

Design

A good system is decided at the design stage. We start from the site’s actual 15-minute consumption profile — not from roof area or a rule of thumb — so sizing is built on real demand rather than a generic assumption. The goal is always optimal self-consumption and the fastest possible financial return.

On-site assessments and energy advisory services

A comprehensive energy assessment of your business’s energy procurement, consumption patterns and technical infrastructure. We map the grid connection point, the available roof and ground area, and the consumption peaks.

Dimensionally accurate drone imagery and 3D models

Dimensionally accurate drone survey of the roof surface and terrain, and a 3D model built from it — the basis for precise layout, shading analysis and structural design.

Modeling of consumption and production forecasts — across 35,040 intervals

We optimise sizing for your own consumption, not for the roof area. Our simulation engine compares the quarter-hourly consumption with the PVGIS-based production curve across 35,040 intervals per year, and shows the key figures: self-consumption ratio, clipping losses, the additional yield achievable with battery storage, and the reverse-power exposure. For systems with storage we also model HUPX arbitrage and peak demand reduction — on actual market prices, not on average assumptions.

Financial return analysis

The payback calculation can be prepared at four levels of accuracy, matched to your decision needs: a fast indicative estimate (±15–25%), a detailed indicative estimate (±10–15%), and a binding, itemised proposal (±3–5%). This gives you speed in the early phase and precision before the decision.

Comprehensive design services

Solar PV systems, battery energy storage, medium- and low-voltage networks, lightning protection — the complete electrical design from a single source. The detailed design is the shared basis for permitting and installation.

Frequently asked questions

What data is needed for the design?+

The most accurate design requires the site’s quarter-hourly (15-minute) consumption data — this can be requested from the distribution system operator or the energy supplier, and is available for time-series settled consumers. From this we model the annual operation across 35,040 intervals. If only monthly consumption is available we can still provide an estimate using a standard load profile, but accuracy is highest with real data.

How long does the design take?+

Indicative sizing and a payback estimate take 1–7 working days, depending on project size and proposal level (from a fast indicative price to an itemised, binding proposal). The detailed design follows, running in parallel with permitting.
